I’m translating this blog into English. It might take some time, so check back to see the progress. This blog in Swedish can be found at silverknuten.blogspot.com

Bollywood Bracelet, originally uploaded by SilverknutenLotta.

Last week end, my sister had her graduation party, and as a gift to her, I made this bracelet that I just had to call “Bollywood” when it was finished… It’s made of gold filled wire, sterling wire, silver and vermeil Bali beads and sparkly Czech firepolish beads. The clasp is hand made.

A few weeks ago, I placed an order with Sargenta for Sterling silver wire. This Monday it finally arrived, which felt really good. I haven’t had the time to make anything yet, but this week end I made the gorgeous bracelet in the picture above. It’s a luxurious bracelet with lots of deep purple amethysts and oxidised silver Bali beads. Just looking at it makes me all happy inside!

More news: I’m moving in at Etsy.com. It’s an online market with the catch phrase “Your place to buy & sell all things handmade”. This is definitely the place to look for uniqe finds! I hope to add my first pieces there next week. In my Etsy shop I will focus mainly in pieces that are more finished and exclusive. You can still buy the rest of my jewellery directly from me. I can also add pieces there that you would like to buy, just ask! There’s also the option to mail me it you see something in the blog that you like. If it’s sold, I’m happy to work with you to make something similar especially for you!

I just found out that my photo album at Yahoo! is closing. I don’t use it much, but I’ve had an album there the last couple of years – before I started blogging – with pictures of jewellery (and some of the kids). Anyway, it’s closing and I’ve decided to switch to Flickr (also a Yahoo! service). It looks good so far, fact is that I’m writing this post from inside Flickr. There’s a feature that lets you connect your blogging account to your Flickr account, how neat is that!

We were invited to my friend Madeleine last Saturday to celebrate her birthday. She has bought jewellery from me before. Last year, she bought a pair of custom earrings, so I wanted to make her a matching bracelet. It’s a classic wrapped loop bracelet with gold filled wire, vermeil spacers and fresh water pearls in blues and greens. Simple and elegant!

At the moment, I’m planning a jewellery making class for beginners that I’m having on the 19th of May. It’s something I’m really looking forward to, and it is also great that I have to sort through and organise my bead stash. The boxes are just standing around in no order at all in my work space. I would love to call it a creative chaos – that sounds so positive!

Sterling silver chain and wire wrapped links intertwine in this romantic and sheer bracelet. Crystal quartz and fresh water pearl beads are accented with Bali and Karen Hill Fair Trade beads. No two links are alike!

Tomorrow we are leaving for Berlin where we are staying for two weeks. Not much chance of any jewellery making during this time, unless I can fit my pliers into the already crammed bags.

Round, flat Bali fish beads with tiny royal blue faceted sodalite beads in between. This feels really nice on and looks good with jeans as well as with a summery dress. To me it looks timeless and elegant. [This one is sold, but please feel free to email me if you’d like something similar]
